Germany is ready to open student visa appointment spaces from November 1, yet students who need to apply have additional moves to follow, (Delhi german embassy)
“As there actually is a number of entries on the appointment shortlist for winter semester 2022, please note that unfortunately, it is not possible for the embassy/departments to check who is in possession of a still valid admission from a German university. Therefore, all students are kindly mentioned to register for an appointment only if they have acquired all mandatory documents,”
Indian students now have to get their scholastic records assessed by the Academic Assessment Centre (APS) and get valid certificates before applying for student visas.
The APS certificate will be a compulsory document to be submitted along with the visa application and applications for certification have been open since October 1, the German Embassy expressed.
An APS certificate isn’t needed for shorter-term courses, but for those that are longer than 90 days. One can enlist online and later print the document and sign it.

As per the German Foreign Office, from 1 January 2023, the assumed yearly requirement that must be paid into the blocked account while applying for a visa will amount to €11,208.

More than 3,000 students from India have lined up for Germany in the 2022-23 scholarly year.
A consistent rise in the number of Indian students applying for courses in Germany( Delhi german embassy) has also prompted an increase in the number of fraudulent practices, like attaching fake academic documents.
German ambassador Philipp Ackermann said the move was started as “up to 15 percent of the applications have fraudulent academic documents, which on times lead to genuine students getting dismissed”.
The number of Indian students in Germany has expanded three-overlay in the past seven years with Indians forming the second biggest group of international students in German universities. Right now, there are 33,753 Indian students studying in Germany.
The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) revealed the number of Indian students who went to Germany in 2021-22 is 33,753 — an 18 percent hop from last year’s 28,542.
